Celebrating two decades of community children's theatre

MTC provides school age children with a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in a variety of theatre arts activities. Each semester, every MTC student “gets a part” with direct on-stage experience. Besides acting, singing and dancing, MTC students develop behind the scenes skills in set and prop design, lighting, sound effects, makeup, stage management, and even directing. These activities help build self-confidence, teamwork, responsibility, problem solving, communication, and leadership skills.

MTC Fundraising Campaign 2020

At MTC, our actors are taught the value of the phrase “The show must go on!” We rehearse a show for several months before it is ready for the stage. Unfortunately, Covid-19 has interfered with those rehearsals, shut down all theatre venues, and has given new meaning to the phrase. MTC has started a month-long fundraising campaign, every week we will be posting videos from our actors, past and present and some behind the scenes shots of our rehearsal process! Look out for new videos and consider donating. Every dollar ensures that the show will indeed go on!

MTC Presents: The Music Man

Music Man Web

There’s trouble in River City when a fast-talking salesman gets his heart stolen by the town librarian.

By turns wicked, funny, warm, romantic and touching, The Music Man is family entertainment at its best. Meredith Willson’s six-time, Tony Award-winning musical comedy has been entertaining audiences since 1957 and is a family-friendly story to be shared with every generation.

The Music Man follows fast-talking traveling salesman, Harold Hill, as he cons the people of River City, Iowa, into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band that he vows to organize – this, despite the fact that he doesn’t know a trombone from a treble clef. His plans to skip town with the cash are foiled when he falls for Marian, the librarian, who transforms him into a respectable citizen by curtain’s fall.
