Dress rehearsals/performances for this production will take place from March 9th to 15th, 2026, at The Metropolitan Theatre.
Audition Information:
This production ranges from 4th to 8th grades. Any actor in 3rd grade who has previously been in an MTC production may audition for the show; however, if the directors believe they could benefit from classes, they will be placed in the KIDS Performance/Acting Class.

Dress Rehersals and Performace Information:
Load in to the Met Theatre is March 9th; dress rehearsals March 9th-11th; shows March 13th-15th. There is a possibility of school shows for this production. If so, there will be school shows on the mornings of the 12th and 13th. Public shows will be on the 13th at 7:00 pm, the 14th at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm, and the 15th at 2:00 pm.
Tech Week: Tech week consists of dress rehearsals and performances, and attendance is mandatory; it is a very busy week! After the final performance, all must help with the strike (moving all items out of the theatre).
Show Synopsis – What is James and the Giant Peach?
Based on one of Roald Dahl’s most poignantly quirky stories, Roald Dahl’s James and the Giant Peach JR. is a brand new take on this “masterpeach” of a tale. Featuring a wickedly tuneful score and a witty and charming book, this adventurous musical about courage and self-discovery is destined to be a classic.
When James is sent by his conniving aunts to chop down their old fruit tree, he discovers a magic potion that grows a tremendous peach, rolls into the ocean and launches a journey of enormous proportions. James befriends a collection of singing insects that ride the giant piece of fruit across the ocean, facing hunger, sharks and plenty of disagreements along the way.
The possibilities for creative costuming and puppetry abound, and young actors will love playing the outlandish and larger-than-life human and insect characters.
